Collection: HARDY FERNS
Ferns are plants that prefer the shade of north or east facing slopes, one exception is the Cheilanthes which grow in dry rocky south-facing slopes. Ferns offer some green in the garden during summer when most of the spring wildflowers have gone dormant. They are long-lived and will get larger after they have been planted for a few years. As is the rule with all plants care should be taken to replant ferns in a location similar to what they would be growing in a natural setting.
