Goldenrod is a fairly tall plant growing from 2 feet to 4 feet, depending on species. It requires full sun but is able to grow in poor soil. It blooms in fall and is one of the last native plants to bloom. It can self-sow seeds to reproduce itself. It is sometimes called a pioneer plant as it is usually one of the first plants to repopulate a disturbed area.
