Shipping season is
anytime outside of the growing season. Bareroot plants cannot be dug and shipped once active growth has begun. Fall
shipping season is now underway. This is an excellent time for shipping and replanting dormant plants. The plants have all
fall and winter to establish their root system and are ready to grow when spring arrives. If you are repotting them for spring
sale they will need some protection from the winters cold.
If you are planning on ordering plants for spring the shipping season
begins in Feburary and the peak is March. By April many of the spring wildlowers are in full growth and the season is postponed
until they flower, set seed and enter into dormancy.
By May we begin digging again and putting plants in storage for shipment
in fall or the following spring. Even though we sometimes have cold winters we do have an earlier spring than many of you
northern gardeners. If ordering spring plants it is good to let us know in advance of when you want shipment.
